In June 2023, the Azuki team unveiled their latest collection, Azuki Elementals, with a thrilling teaser that excited the entire community. They introduced an instant reveal feature to allow collectors to view their art immediately despite being priced at 2 ETH, an incredibly high amount in the NFT bear market, the mint sold out in minutes. This generated over $30 million in revenue for the Azuki team almost instantly.

Instead of relying solely on a generator to create art, Open Generative Collections generate art as minted. Artists upload their layers and allow the blockchain to determine the final result. This may seem intimidating, but consider the possibility of generating an infinite number of variations and rediscovering your artwork in a new, meaningful way using chance from the blockchain. It's a thrilling prospect.

As we reflect on the NFT Bull Run, we must acknowledge the unsung hero who played a major role in powering the art scene - Hashlips. Artists and coders alike quickly learned how to use this tool, ultimately leading to an entire industry's takeoff. Like Hashlips, we rely on the folder structure to separate the layers into groups. The layers are then treated as variation groups, and generative logic will match the trait accordingly.
