NiftyKit had the chance to collaborate with Encode Club, a web3 education community. They were also one of the sponsors for the Metaverse Hackathon 2022, alongside partners such as OpenSea and Optimism.
Our goal was to brainstorm ways to use NiftyKit's platform to create features that would help developers and other creators unleash their creativity.
We had a total of 15 submissions, and we picked the winners based on the following challenges:
Challenge 1: Token-Gated Experiences
Create a token-gated experience leveraging NiftyKit collections.
Some examples are:
Token-Gated Storytelling: Unlock special knowledge related to the NFTs you possess.
Token-Gated e-commerce: Convert an NFT into a physical good
Token-Gated SaaS: NiftyKit is entirely operated by NFTs (token-gated tooling)
Challenge 2: Dynamic NFTs
Create dynamically changing NFTs by leveraging NiftyKit Reveal API.
Some examples are:
Dynamic Scoring System: Easily adjust metadata on the fly
NFT Gaming: Leveling, evolving, growing, swimming… dynamically updating its status
Dynamic Product Updates: If an NFT is your product, easily update the product on the fly to maximize value.
Challenge 3: No-code Tooling for NFTs
Build No-code Tooling for NFTs to make the creator’s job easier.
Some of the issues they are having trouble with:
Art/Music/Video Generators
NFT Metadata Management
Web2 Product Bridges
Winners
Grand Prize Winner: superModel
The superModel is a StableDiffusion-powered Metaverse asset generator. We chose this as the grand prize winner because AI is a powerful creation tool, enabling creators to save time by automating asset production. We saw limitless potential when we made it simpler to create NFTs for creators, allowing them to focus on more important tasks.
Runner Up #1: Silvanus
Silvanus is an on-chain dynamic NFT game. Players water seedling NFTs to grow them into a tree. They must race to grow their seedlings before the tree NFT is destroyed by a flood or wildfire. The goal of the game is to promote reforestation and bring people together. We selected this project as the runner-up due to its unique gameplay and its use of browser technology to innovate.
Runner Up #2: OP Gotchis
OP Gotchis is an exciting and evolving NFT game in its Alpha phase. It provides an interesting way to gamify public good initiatives by funding and receiving a Gotchi, which can then battle and evolve. It sounds like a lot of fun!
Community Pass
In addition to the hackathon, we worked with Encode Club to create a free NFT for their community members. This NFT gave members of Encode Club access to NiftyKit at zero cost (excluding sales fees).
This ‘Community Pass’ is a seamless way for organizations to provide their members with the tools to mint, manage, and control their own NFT smart contracts and digital collectibles – with zero payment upfront. Pretty sweet deal.
If you’re looking for something similar for your community, we’d love to hear from you. Please reach out to partners@niftykit.com to get started with your own Community Pass.
